Leaving Yellowstone.

Friday morning we were awoken by an oncoming storm of epic proportions! There was a complete rainbow before the rain came and the colors in the sky were beautiful.
As we were in a bit of a hurry, I couldn't get many good shots. Here are a few.

We ran straight to Laura's in De Smet!

6/29/15

We spent 3 nights and 4 days in Yellowstone.  We saw a plethora of wild animals.  I was happy that we didn't see any bear until we were driving out of the park.
I'm feeling lazy about word usage,  so I will let the pictures speak.

Tetons

On to the Tetons!  An incredible drive, kind people and beautiful weather.  As we left Portland, I realized that we actually live in one of those places where people travel to.  There is so much more though.  Arriving at Jackson Hole overlook, the view was that which you see in photos and can't imagine until you see it.  The huge snow covered mountains, the spring flowers blowing in tall grasses, right down to some dog like beast frolicking in the meadow! I will put the picture below and you all can weigh in on what it may be, fox, coyote, wolf?
We had a great night there before heading on to our 4 days in Yellowstone. There was so much insistence on being "bear aware" that I couldn't relax at any campsite, especially when they were sparsely populated. I slept with the car key in my hand sometimes, waiting to press the panic button.
Never had to, but thought I might, many times!
Yellowstone pix to come another time. Burned out for now.
