6/26/15

It's been an arduous journey, as far as keeping in contact.   But amazing in every other way!  Today is the first day in which we have had consistent signal.   I have kept notes about the trip, but not concise or organized.  So I will put up some pictures and maybe a few notes here and there.
I'll try to keep things succinct, and limit pictures.
Let's see if first, I can throw out some tidbits.
We left Portland on the 17th, around 1:30, only an hour behind schedule!  We stayed the night at Farewell Bend St. Park.  As we arrived, we crossed the time zone, switched the clock, and as we got off the exit, crossed back into PST again.  Oh well.
We set up camp, fed a myriad of mosquitoes and went to bed.
In the morning we drove on to Craters of the Moon in Idaho.  What an amazing place!  It was a lava rock wonderland.

Lydia learned to whittle here at Craters of the Moon.
